Experience

Mr. Damiano founded the firm in 1972 with Pat Barile. He dedicated more than 50 years of his life to the profession of engineering. By the time of his retirement in 2008 Damiano Barile Engineers, P.C. was one of the leading engineering firms in the region. In addition to extensive experience in public school work, institutional, commercial, residential and industrial projects. His commitment to sound, practical engineering principles is a hallmark of the firm’s portfolio.

Experience

Mr. Barile dedicated more than 50 years to the art and science of engineering design.  With his guidance Damiano Barile Engineers, P.C. became one of the region’s leading consulting engineering firms.  Mr. Barile started his career in the early 1950's and served in Rome, Italy as Liaison Consultant for the Place Victoria Project in Montreal, Canada.  In the 1960's he continued his pursuit of excellence in engineering and was the lead mechanical engineer and project manager on such important projects as the Hudson River Museum Complex in Yonkers, NY.  He also supervised the design and construction of the Forest Biology Laboratory and Library buildings for the State University of New York, Syracuse, NY.  In 1972 Mr. Barile joined Tom Damiano in establishing our firm.  Together they developed a practice that fosters a collegial approach to the profession of engineering emphasizing robust, practical solutions with our client’s interest placed first.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Barile has 30+ years of in-depth experience in HVAC design and modern commercial and institutional building construction.  As president of the firm he provides leadership in setting company goals and overall philosophy.  He personally oversees the planning, design and construction of many of the firm’s projects and maintains involvement on all projects.  Mr. Barile is a second generation owner and literally “grew up in the business”.  Joining the team at the age of 11 as an unpaid office boy, he worked his way up through the ranks as a draftsman, designer, engineer and project manager.  He was a pioneer in the field of computer aided drafting and design (CADD).  Upon graduation from Manhattan College Mr. Barile joined Syska and Hennessey in their NY City office where he was one of the early adopters of AutoCAD for that firm.  Today Mr. Barile continues his commitment to advancing the field of building design to ensure a sustainable built environment for future generations.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Gallagher joined the firm in 1992.  He has more than 25 years experience in mechanical systems design.  Mr. Gallagher serves as Principal-In-Charge and Project Manager on many of the firm’s projects.  In 1999 he earned the position of Associate and in 2008 became a partner in the firm.  Mr. Gallagher is the client point of contact and performs HVAC, Plumbing, Potable Water Systems and Fire Protection design, construction administration, probable costing, allocation of office work flow, and project coordination of all trades.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Restivo joined the firm in 1998.  In 1999 he earned the position of Senior Electrical Engineer and Project Manager for the firm, he supervises and performs the design of electrical power and lighting and fire alarm/security systems, calculating of probable costs, construction administration and coordination of trades.  In 2016 he earned the position of Senior Associate, and recently in 2024, named a principal in the firm.  He is currently spearheading our work in battery storage and EV charging sectors. Prior to joining the firm Mr. Restivo was a project engineer with Edwards & Zuck, P.C. and Jack Green Associates in New York responsible for electrical design including projects in the NBC Building at Rockefeller Center. Mr. Restivo also held the position of Project Manager for Turner Construction where he oversaw the construction of complex projects in Stamford, CT and Brooklyn, NY.

Mr. Muenkel joined the firm in 2008 and has more than 30 years' experience in building design and construction. He serves as project manager and project engineer for HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinkler and geothermal ground-source system design.  His extensive experience includes developing energy models and calculating payback periods for energy-conservation measures.  Rick’s attention to detail and collaborative approach to design help maintain the firm’s lasting client relationships. Mr. Pedlow joined the firm in 2016. As a project engineer, he is responsible for the design of HVAC/Plumbing.  Mr. Pedlow also produces final mechanical drawings, specifications, and probable cost figures. During construction he generates construction observation reports and shop drawing reviews.  He is a trusted client point of contact, project manager, and mechanical project engineer. In 2024, he earned his Professional Engineer’s License and was named an Associate in the firm. Mr. Weale rejoined the firm in 2024. He had previously been with us from 2007 to 2014.  As a Project Electrical Engineer, he is responsible for the design of power distribution, lighting systems, fire alarm, communication, emergency power and security systems in AutoCAD and Revit.  Mr. Weale also produces evaluation reports, feasibility studies, final electrical drawings and specifications.  During the construction phase of our projects Mr. Weale responds to RFIs, reviews shop drawings, represents the firm at construction meetings and generates construction observation reports.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Tarulli joined the firm in 2025 as a Mechanical Engineer. He earned a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hartford and received his Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification in New York in 2025. His experience includes designing and coordinating HVAC, plumbing, geothermal, and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems for educational, institutional, and commercial facilities. He has contributed to numerous K-12 capital improvement projects throughout New York, including districtwide HVAC modernization programs, geothermal system expansions, rooftop unit replacements, and high-efficiency building electrification initiatives. He is a Certified Ground Source Commercial System Designer (GCSD) through CSA Group, recognized by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA), and holds a Certified associate in project management (CAPM) credential from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Before joining the firm, Mr. Tarulli worked as a Project Engineer in pharmaceutical manufacturing, where he managed capital improvement projects and utility system upgrades, including implementation of an industrial purified water system. His background provides a strong foundation in engineering design, project management, construction administration, and sustainable building systems.

Mr. Bucaj joined the firm in Fall 2025. Ms. Barile joined Barile Gallagher Associates, P.C. in November 2015. She is responsible for all accounts payable and receivable and assists with all financial matters. She also manages the building at 39 Marble Avenue, Pleasantville where BGA is a tenant along with a ground floor restaurant tenant. Susan has a background in finance and real estate, working for 20+ years in the commercial real estate field and more recently as a Real Estate Salesperson arranging commercial mortgage financing for clients in the NY City area.

Since joining the firm in 2015, Ms. Cyril has been a valued member of the front office team and an important point of contact for clients, consultants, vendors, and staff. She provides courteous and professional assistance by telephone and in person, helping ensure that daily office communications are handled promptly and effectively. In addition to supporting general front office operations with efficiency and care, her responsibilities include clerical support, processing shop drawings and specifications, maintaining the firm’s database and website, Quick Books, notarizing documents, organizing administrative records, and coordinating in-office vendor meetings with staff. Her attention to detail, reliability, and personable approach contribute to the smooth operation of the office and support the firm’s overall client service. Prior to joining the firm, she spent 15 years in the hospitality industry as an Executive Chef and Director of Dining Services, where she developed strong organizational, management, and customer service skills.  

Ms. Tavares joined the firm in 2020 and oversees the office’s day-to-day administrative operations. An experienced administrative professional, she brings strong interpersonal skills, technical proficiency, and creative energy to her role. Before joining the firm, she spent more than 20 years working with nonprofit organizations, providing dedicated support to presidents, directors, and lay leaders. As part of her commitment to continuous professional growth, Ms. Tavares earned her commission as a Notary Public.  Outside the office, she enjoys traveling with her family.
